Squier Standard Stratocaster ST-362 Artic White (MIJ) de 1985

La réputation des guitares faites au Japon n’est plus à faire. Il y a eu un certain engouement lorsque Fender a commencer à faire des rééditions de modèles vintage au début des année 80, les fameuses « JV ».
Fin 1983, elles sont remplacées par les « SQ », n’arborant plus que le logo Squier sur leur tête.
A la fin de l’année 84, c’est la série Standard Stratocaster qui reprend le flambeau.

Ce sont des modèles d’export reprenant l’apparence classique des modèles iconiques des 50s et 60s, pour un cout beaucoup plus abordable.

Voici un modèle en très bel état fabriquée dans l’usine Fuji-Gen avec en corps en tilleul, une finition Artic White légèrement jaunie et un beau manche en érable ainsi qu’une touche en palissandre figuré.

Elle a une petite tête avec son logo Squier by Fender Made in Japan. Elle propose également un trussrod « vintage style » au niveau du haut du manche et un bridge avec tremolo standard.

Peu de modèle était proposé avec un pickguard 3-plis au lieu d’un 1-pli, celle-ci en fait parti et on doit dire que ça lui donne un look beaucoup plus charismatique.

Au niveau de l’électronique, nous sommes sur une configuration SSS avec des micros céramique, un master volume et deux potentiomètres de tonalité ainsi qu’un sélecteur 5 positions. Ces micros sont puissants avec des connotations vintage, très polyvalents, cristallins.

Elle est livrée avec son hardcase d’export d’époque.

C’est une guitare qui vaut vraiment le détour car elle est d’une qualité impeccable pour un petit budget, digne héritière des JV qui ont marqué les esprits.

Japanese guitars are well known throughout the world for being of great quality. In the beginning of the 80s, the « JV » serie came out and so began the enthusiasm for the Japanese Strats as they were extremely well made.

In the end of 83’ they were replaced by the « SQ » serie, wearing the new Squier logo on the headstock.

In 84’ the Standard Stratocaster serie took over. They were export models using the classic appearance of 50s and 60s instruments for a much more affordable price.

Here is a very well preserved model made in the Fuji-Gen Plant with a basswood body, an Arctic White finish which turned slightly yellow, a nice maple neck and figured rosewood fretboard.

She has a small headstock with the Made In Japan Squier logo. She has vintage-style bridge and tremolo system.

A few models were offered with a 3-ply pickguard instead of 1-ply, like this one here, making her very charismatic.

Regarding the electronic, she has SSS setup with ceramic pickups , a master volume, two tonalities and a 5-way switch. The pickups are powerful with vintage overtone, very versatile.

She comes with her export hardcase.

This one is worth the journey for her impeccable quality and low budget, worthy successor of the JV serie which made such an impact.
