La Gibson Les Paul Goldtop est l’une des versions les plus emblématiques de la célèbre Gibson Les Paul, introduite en 1952 par Gibson en collaboration avec le guitariste Les Paul.

Elle se distingue immédiatement par sa finition dorée caractéristique, appelée « Goldtop », qui donne à l’instrument une apparence élégante et distinctive tout en mettant en valeur la table en érable sculptée.
Comme les autres Les Paul traditionnelles, elle est construite avec un corps en acajou surmonté d’une table en érable, une jonction de manche collée et un diapason court,
éléments qui contribuent à son sustain remarquable et à son timbre riche, chaud et puissant.

Les premiers modèles étaient équipés de micros P-90, offrant un son clair mais nerveux et très dynamique, tandis que les versions apparues à la fin des années 1950 ont adopté les humbuckers Gibson PAF humbucker,
apportant davantage de puissance et de rondeur.

Grâce à son caractère sonore expressif et à son esthétique devenue mythique, la Goldtop a été utilisée dans de nombreux styles, du blues et du rock classique au jazz,

  The Gibson Les Paul Goldtop is one of the most iconic versions of the famous Gibson Les Paul, introduced in 1952 by Gibson in collaboration with the guitarist Les Paul.
  
  It is immediately recognizable thanks to its distinctive gold finish, known as the “Goldtop,” which gives the instrument an elegant and unique appearance while highlighting the carved maple top.
